Freudenberg Sealing Technologies GmbH & Co. KG (FST), the global market leader in the field of sealing technology, approached us with the wish to present their products in a new way, since these are usually invisible to the end customer. Our response was to develop a web-based, interactive solution that shows the sealing systems in an application-related context and helps to strengthen the technology experts brand image with an innovative approach.
Since 2019, pixellab. has realized a series of 3D applications for the following systems and components:

With each 3D application, we familiarize ourselves with the specific functionalities of the respective system, research industry-specific details and break down complex processes to the essentials. At the end of the process, there is a generic 3D model with all the required FST products, in a technically coherent environment - highly optimized so that the application can also run on less performant mobile devices.
Technically, the whole thing is based on the lightweight WebGL library "Babylon.js". Compared to the monolithic output of Unity or Unreal engine, which is associated with considerable file sizes, this 3D Javascript framework offers an open, powerful rendering engine for the HTML canvas element. By simply combining it with other web standard elements, browser-based applications can be realized that can also meet all SEO requirements, for example. These are available both online and offline as a stand-alone desktop program in three languages.

The 3D applications created offer an easily accessible introduction to the Weinheim-based technology leader's product portfolio and underline its claim to high innovative strength and digital transformation. Both the client and Freudenberg's customers are impressed by the added value of the interactive objects and the advantage of their vivid presentation. Applications for other business units are already in the works.
